This was our Lord’s way of preaching to Nicodemus, and this encouraging 20 pg book by GH Lang (1874-1958) opens it up to us
-“Except a man be born of water and the spirit he is not able to enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5)
It is not by
(1) Good living
(2) Ordinances of religion
Rather it is by
(1) Receiving the very life, eternal life, of God Himself
(2) Which life is a new kingdom, and animates us to live in it
Without receiving this change of life and nature, being literally born from above, one cannot enter into the kingdom of God, either in its present inward stage, or in its future and manifest stage.
Highly recommended for reading with people interested in a fuller view of salvation than the typical altar-call sermon.
