He also emphasizes that these New Covenant blessings are the fulfillment of the promises given to Abraham. Countering the dispensational teaching that the church age is parenthetical due to Israel’s rejection of Christ, Lang shows rather that the age of the Law of Moses was parenthetical, serving its purpose of exposing that all fallen men, whether Jew or Gentile, are absolutely unable to gain righteousness through self-effort. Under God’s salvation by grace, ultimately both Jews and the nations will enjoy their respective blessings in the coming Kingdom, as was long prophesied in both the Old and New Testaments.
