If They Shall Fall Away
If They Shall Fall Away
R. E. Neighbor has a lot to say about the warnings to believers in the Epistle to the Hebrews, in this 150 page gem.
“The warnings of Hebrews 3, and of First Corinthians 10, and of many other scriptures, are given to saints who were saved by grace through faith. Think you because we are saved by grace alone, apart from the deeds of the flesh, that, therefore grace leaves no place for the Holy Spirit to admonish true Christians as to how they shall live?”
“The pulpit is partly to blame for this. Many great preachers stay too much upon simple salvation themes. They preach for converts, then they leave their converts to starve spiritually, while they try to win more converts.”
“…interpreting all of these warnings in Hebrews chapters 3 and 4, and 6, and 10, and 12… we take the position that saints are saved by grace, and being saved they can never be lost, but that they may lose their crown, and they shall be judged for their deeds done in their body, whether they be good or bad. That a just God will mete out just judgment at the judgment seat of Christ, to all believers.”
