GH Lang's purpose in writing this book is to refute the dispensational teaching made popular by the Scofield Reference Bible, which holds that when Israel rejected the Messiah, she forfeited Jehovah’s promise to become the eternal kingdom ruling the earth with Him. In his typical thorough method, Lang shows how all of the covenant promises to Abraham and David could never be withdrawn, even in Israel’s disobedience.

Jesus confirmed this in the Gospels, as did the apostles in Acts, and Paul, Peter and John in their Epistles and Revelation. Thus there was every expectation in Lang, when he first published this book in 1940, that Israel would once again become a nation, the temple would be rebuilt, and the prophetic tribulation would occur– when the remnant of Israel would be saved by Jesus in His second coming.

Then He will set up His Millennial Kingdom in the very land of Israel, and all nations will submit to them as the earthly priestly nation of God.
